Was thinking of organising something, but just scraped the FTO along the side of a gate when going down a driveway Sad the door and rear 1/4 are all scraped up, its fucked, but a sign.. i have been seriously considering selling the FTO over the last week.. maybe this is a sign telling me to sell it..

Regardless, ive gotta get it fixed now.. its shown one thing up, the rear 1/4 panel has about 3mm of filler.. thats fucked, such a bad patch up job from japan..

So, i might get it fixed up, then sell it.

Anyone know a anyone selling a late 90's WRX with stainless exhaust system for mid 20's???

Mark

yeah i know, will be a shame to sell it.. i've had it for 2 1/2 years now, and its just hit 100,000 kms, so its about time for a change.

I definately want a turbo, and I feel like a sedan.. I would prefer something that is australian delivered, for insurance purposes.. it saves all the crap that you have to go through with insurance. (how many times have I heard the question "is that an import?" from insurance call centre workers)

I am also considering a Lancer GSR... but not many around for sale ever. Maybe a suzuki swift GTI, or a PUG GTI?

Yeah, it'd be a shame to sell 8K - and just when you've got 15% more power out of it!! It's a nice little motor, that 'un. We'd certainly miss hearing it approaching (8 blocks from our house!! Smile

If you do sell her, at least find something that will stop you in your tracks when you see it parked somewhere. One of the distinct advantages of the FTO in my book!!

Hey Mark,
sorry to hear about the damage. But guess what... I damaged my baby just recently too. Sad

Leaving the apartment in a hurry and I scraped the side of my car on a concrete wall. Don't think it's as bad as yours though. Scraped the section where the 'Mivec' sticker is. Also pressed in the panel there. Sad
Got paint off my side skirts, and scratched up my alloys.

Anyone know a good panel beater or alloy repair joint?

As for a WRX, lovely sound and sizzling performance. But you'll be blending into the crowd with that. Smile
Just make sure you take us for a spin when you get it. Razz

Zan.

I just went to the panel beater across the road from work (the advantage of working for a tech company in a commertial zone). We are friendly with him (a couple of employee cars have gone there to be fixed Smile. All up to respray my chipped front bumper, fix the damage on the side and rear (that the ding ive had for ages) should be around 1000, give or take 100 depending on the price of the paint.

Hey Zan

I can take you to my panel beater if you like, he's located in Inglewood. He installed my bodykit and fixed the minor dent I had the other time. My last damage was only $80. I'm sure elsewhere would have quoted me $200 to $300 for the job. He's a nice guy and very reasonable. The only thing is he only accept CASH!!!

We can go one lunch time if you want, but you have to come fetch me. If you are happy with the quote and want to proceed, you should be able to get your car back in a day or two. Mind you there's usually like a two week waiting period as he's always busy.

As for repairing your alloy, there's a place in Northbridge - Alliance Rim Repairs on 292 James Street (Cnr James & Fitzgerald st) Tel: 9328 8373

I'm not sure how much they charge, but I'm guessing somewhere between $50 to $150 depending how much damage you've done to it.

Getting back to the topic would any of you guys be interested in putting in a FTO drivers club display at autosalon?? yes?? if you can get 6 cars together then that gets a cheaper entry fee..

I know some FTOs arent that modified but even with the small enchancements that some of you guys have done I think that it would be a good event!

I would help you out as much as possible knowing what actually goes on at the shows..

also there could possibly be a dyno trophie out there too.. not many FWD n/a cars out there with 160-70 BHP standard..

cheers

well ill see how the car looks once it has been fixed.. then i need to think of a theme for a display, plus somehow polish every part of the car that is visible from the outside... polish the engine bay..

its kinda hard when its a daily driver... but maybe i could come up with something..

Anyone got idea's for a black theme of some sort?
