Hi everyone.

It seems February has got busy all of a sudden!

CRUISE

We are planning a breakfast cruise for Sunday February 29th. The finer
details are still to be arranged, but we will be meeting nice and early (!)
for a bite to eat and a bit of a drive. Current options include a Fast
Eddy's Freo brekkie leading on to a drive up the coast, or perhaps an
initial meet-up somewhere near the City for a drive to a breakfast location
out in Middle Swan. This is likely to be a 7:30-8:00am start, and will only
take a couple of hours in total.

If you're interested in coming along, please email me. Knowing the likely
turnout will be very useful for reserving tables, avoiding parking hassles,
etc.

As with all our public road drives, this will be a very relaxed affair.
Save the adrenalin for track days!! Speaking of which...

MOTORSPORT NEWS

Members of the FTO Drivers Club have entered in the MC Motorsport Motorkhana
Summer Series. This is a team event, in a similar format to the MC
Motorsport practice sessions (just with more paperwork, more severe time
penalties for infractions, results from a laser timing system, etc.!).

Round 1 for our team is going to be held at the MC Motorsport DTEC venue in
Wanneroo on Sunday morning, February 15th.

Details have been posted up on the forum (https://ftowa.allanson.org/forum).
Additionally, we will shortly have a new website section tracking members'
involvement in local motorsport. This will allow us to post up schedules,
news, pics, results, and so on. Drop in soon, and check it out.

And if you'd like to come up to MC's and support the team, please get in
touch for directions, times, etc. Note that part-way through this season,
MC Motorsport will be moving venues to the brand new Airport facility.

PHOTO SHOOT UPDATE

Late last year, we got together down in Henderson next to the navy drydock,
stuffed a load of FTOs into a "carpark with a view" and took some photos.
The aim was to submit a group photo into the yearly UK FTO Owners Club
"Calendar Competition".

Well, I'm delighted to report that WE GOT IN! I've attached a teaser
photo... a 2004 calendar filled with FTO pictures. And there, between May
and July, is our entry! Nice one.

If anyone wants one of these calendars for themselves, I've asked the UK
club people about costs for additional calendars. They are happy to sell
additional ones to us in packs of 5, and have kindly offered us a bulk
discount to boot.

Cost per calendar (in Aussie dollars, including postage) will be $16-$17.
If anyone wants to buy this fine bit of FTO merchandise, please email me.
I'll be happy to arrange purchase and distribution of these. I can say
without a doubt that there are some superb photos in it. Apart from ours,
of course! Smile

FTO AUSTRALIA CLUB

We recently received an interesting email from Over East... The people at
http://www.ftoaustralia.com have been doing their homework in regard to
forming a country-wide, incorporated club. Check out the email and related
discussion here:

https://ftowa.allanson.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=229

Feel free to contribute!

That's all for now. Please let me know if you're interested in the Sunday
breakfast, watching the MC competition day or would like to buy a UK FTOOC
calendar!

Cheers,

- Rich
