Hi,

I've had my alternator replaced with a second-hand one a few months ago. I've just noticed it makes a whinning noise when I accelerate.

Does anyone know the cause for this?

cheers.

Could it be belt noise, as opposed to the alternator itself? There are two drive belts and a timing belt in the vicinity...

Perhaps you could get the belt tightness checked, and the general drivebelt condition. My last set of drivebelts lasted 66,000km, and were a little tatty by the time they got replaced.
