whats up guys!
Im in need your expert advice - my guys at Pedders have noticed that my chassis on my FTO is rusting??! strange i know ! Im unsure what to do from here as ive never heard of such a thing, ive been told i need to replace it, i dont know if this is possible. If any of you have any suggestions or have heard of this before pls help, id really appreciate it!

You should be able to have the bad sections cut out and new bits welded in.
Go and see a classic car restorer,i'm sure they will have had to deal with plenty of rust in their time. |

Sorry to hear that! Are you in Perth?
I'd read somewhere the FTO's underseal wasn't up to protecting it long-term. And the early ones are now 10-11 years old now.
Since buying mine in 2000, I've had Beam rustproofing treatment applied every year. Hopefully it will be protected from such nastiness!

Definately seek a second opinion, Pedders Wangara told me that my steering column was leaking and that was the reason the car was shuddering slightly under heavy breaking. They wanted $2500 to buy a new column pluys installation and GST.
Surprise surprise it was actually just warped brake discs, absolutely nothing wrong with the steering column.
