Anyone know where I can source a new gearbox solenoid. My auto keeps jumping in to third (and won't change) and the neutral light on the dash flashes.
My local garage have had it in twice and think it's the solenoid but don't know what to do next 
Anyone else had this problem?

doenst really sound like the solenoid giving way, when my solenoid was gone quite a few fuses went with it too including the one that controls gear changes. i could onli drive in 1st gear

Thanks Eugene. I'm relying on my local garage's diagnosis so you may be right. They seem to think the solenoid is sticking but could be wrong.
Anyone recommend a good garage South of Perth that knows what they're doing with FTO's |

To do your own diagnosis, look here...

It has such gems as...
With a flashing N lamp there are two possibilities of what it could be.
If it flashes at 1Hz, once a second, then it will be either,
Input speed sensor
Output speed sensor
Solenoid valve
Out of phase at shift points
A/T control relay system
If it flashes at 2Hz, twice per second, the ATF temperature is too high and you should stop to allow it to cool down.
...and a complete list of A/T error codes from the flashing dashboard engine-ECU warning light.
The nicest part is, its pointer to a "how-to" for getting the engine-ECU error code light flashing references www.ftowa.com!

go to GTS MOTORS at gympy way on high road, willetton PAT is the guy to look for, great guy that finishes his work quick and good. defintitely recomended or u could ask rich about "crockenberg??" yea.i always go to pat when it comes to cars.

Thanks Eugene, sorry for not spotting your reply sooner. I dind indeed take it to Mal at Crockenburg who went out of his way to help me and had her back in shape pretty quick.
Just one of the gearbox switches was failing and Mal swapped it over. |
