Dear fto owners

im in need of a bonnet to use for 1 day next week to get my car registered.

So far it has costed me over $300 trying 2 fix the things and there's only one thing left...........a normal bonnet. Since mine is fibre glass there is no chance that the car is going to get registered.

So i beg of anyone with a silver fto, that i can borrow there bonnet for just 1 day and will return it the same day. PLZ

Thank You
Vlad

have they rejected the bonnet??? if so I would ring the welshpool pits.. ask for rino and ask him directly if it would pass.. when we had our info night with him a few weeks ago he said that these bonnets were perfectly LEGAL..

hope that helps... if not I could ask faye if she wants a a/m bonnet for a day..

cheers

if you are talking about the technical manager from welshpool, he said it's TOTALLY ILLEGAL. Maybe its because its vented?

I would love to speak to the same guy that said that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

It is illegal to have vents pointing rearwards (towards the windscreen).
I think the premise is that if a hose busts, it will spray all over the windscreen and block your sight.

i reckon it's a load of bull. If you see it for yourself, the vent is infront of the engine and there isn't any hoses or wires! Mad

Even the manager of technical said "it's safer the way it is right now, rather than just putting a huge vent in the centre".

But you can't make everyone happy i guess. Sad

i just got a hold of Raymond from Carquest and he told me that the guy had a accident and the bonnet was fully twisted (how unlucky).

So baz can you please ask your girlfriend 1 more time. Ill pay her if she wants.

The insurance company will only insure it if it is registered and we have an uninsured fto in the garage!!!!!! Mad

SO it's up to u Baz (dont want to put any pressure on u)........PLZ
