My car got stolen recently and when it was recovered I was left with the dilema of havin no keys. (they broke into my house and stole the keys to get the car.)

Now I need a full set of locks and new keys asap.
Can anyone help??

On the same note, ever since the break-into-house-to-steal-keys-then-steal-car thing started happing I have always hidden my keys in a hard to find place.

Hint 1:
NEVER hand keys on a key hanger near the door

Hint 2:
NEVER keep keys in the kitchen on top of other easy-to-see benches.

I can get a set of locks and keys from QLD but they are off a Tiptronic.
Apparently there is cable running ignition to box that stops you taking the key out unless in park?
Anyone kno about this and if it can be removed?
What the wrecker has described sounds the same just without the cable.
Anyway waitin on pictures.
Any help?

From what I have read elsewhere you can detatch this cable and it will work fine.

Alrighty, this theft thingy is turning into a major nightmare.
So we got the steering lock off and managed to start the car.
I was all keen on a quick run to check her out so in with the clutch and into first, out with the clutch and rev rev. HMM that seem funny, were not moving??? and the TCL off light is flashing??? OH SHIOT!!!

So I'd say the clucth is fried but why is the TCL off light flashing?
Anyone had any problems with the TCL before and anyone got any ideas on what is damagd or better still how they managed to f.ck it??

This is driving me nuts, I just want my car back and it is just problem after problem. Worse still, the insurance will only pay for the rental for two weeks, so now it's startin to cost money and thats bad. Evil or Very Mad

Please help if you can I just dont know about this one??

Did you get the new locks from qld? If not, it might be a safety thing, ie cant drive car if hotwired.

The new locks are on the way, just pulled the switch off the back of the lock and started it with screwdriver.

I thought it may be a safety, but it is manual so would be very complicated system I reckon??? Then again isn't the whole car. Evil or Very Mad

Nah there is definately a clutchy smell when you do it so the plate is gone, but what worries me is the light flashing, unless the system is damage it should still show normal.

You cant even deactivate TCL. You can hold the switch in and the light stays on but as soon as you let it go it starts flashing.

If you start the car in neutral it goes with the light off, but soon as you put the clutch in it starts flashing and then you cant make it go away without turning the car off. Makes me think there may be a sensor that can detect the clutch is gone??
