Well, I've thrashed around in Mitsubishi CAPS program for a while, trying to look up 'MAP', 'vacuum', 'sensor', 'where the hell is it?' and other key words.
The nearest I've found has been a 'boost sensor'. Dodgy Japanese translation? Vacuum could possibly be referred to as 'negative boost' in some circles........? So you never know!
The picture doesn't show a lot. Just a general location, and a bracket you might recognise if you saw it.
Here it is...
Still, there are some questions going unanswered. Is it on the firewall, on the engine side? Is this the MAP sensor? Is it the vacuum sensor referred to in the codes?
But it's a start! All the sensors used by the engine ECU are described as "SENSOR, ENG ELECTRIC CONTROL xxxxxxx", so I think this isn't a bad shot at it.
Hope this helps.
