Recently my MIVEC engine has started pinking what are the main causes of this.

Well, I would be getting to a good garage (or EFI specialist) as soon as humanly possible.

If you're in Perth, I can recommend Auto Petrol Injection in Booragoon for EFI analysis (I used to work for the owner - a straight-up bloke), or Crockenberg Motors (all things performance Mitsubishi).

You could also try the Engine ECU Error Code trick in our 'workshop' section at www.ftowa.com and see if the computer has noticed something dodgy.

I take it you're always using BP Ultimate 98 fuel?
