Hi all.
We have rescheduled the Quit Motorplex drag night from October 27th to
November 24th. With a little luck, this revised date will be easier for
people to attend. Apologies to anyone who was looking forward to a meet
this Wednesday night!
- Rich

Except for the new date, details are the same as before...
On the evening of Wednesday November 24th, we will be heading down and get some quarter mile runs under our belts.
There will be a prize (a small prize, hehe) for the fastest FTO elapsed time
of the night. And yes, gazillion horsepower twin turbo conversion FTOs will
qualify!
All you need is a helmet, a long-sleeve shirt, long pants and enclosed
footwear.
So let me know if you're thinking of dropping in for a few blasts down the
drag strip!
PS. If the weather is bad we'll just delay by a week. The Motorplex runs
this each and every Wednesday through to May.
------
What/Where/How Much?
(Taken from http://www.motorplex.com.au/)...
Competitor Entry 5:00pm
Spectator Entry 5:30pm
Competitor entry closes 9pm (or 160 entries)
Racing 6pm - 10pm
Drag Racing Entry $30
Spectators: Adults $12, Children $6
All you need to compete is a licenced/muffled Street car or bike, a helmet
and long sleeves, long pants and enclosed footware.
You can race your car or bike as many times as you wish and you will find
the staff on hand only too willing to ensure that your first experience at
Drag Racing is an enjoyable one.
To ensure everyone gets a number of runs each Wednesday - entries are
restricted to 160, however those missing out will be given a voucher that
will guarantee that they get to race on the following Wednesday night.

Sounds like a plan - and yes - Robert (kaveman) and I are interested in coming along with you all
Rob's just wishing he could somehow get his car across after all the work he's recently had done..... oh well..... Would have been interesting to see how it went
Cheers

Okay, just got back...
My best time was:
Elapsed Time: 14.844 sec.
Terminal Speed: 152 km/h.
I was hoping for a 14.xx second result, and got one. The drag night from earlier this year saw a best time of 15.2 seconds, so I reduced that by 0.4 seconds. Stoked!

Richard, impressive times.
What mods have you done to the car since the last time at the drags? |

Two things. Relocated the airbox with the "FTOWA" induction piping thingumybob, and replaced the standard exhaust downpipes (or Y-pipe) with an aftermarket one from UAS over East.
Also had an ultrasonic injector clean and valve clearance adjustment servicing jobs done a few months ago.

A quarter mile terminal speed of 150km/h plus no brakes equals.....
...much more than a quarter mile!!!
Sounded like a good move to pass on Wednesday night then. Next time...!!
