i have heard that the non MIVEC 6A12 comes with a 9.5:1 compression ratio from the factory - is this true??

if so, will the non-MIVEC block bolt directly onto to the MIVEC head?

Will there be any differences with oil cooling galleries inside the block etc between the MIVEC & non-MIVEC block?

This is urgent - pls advise asap thanks!

It looks like the DE2A 1.8 litre engine is the one with 9.5:1 compression ratio.

Found this...

So no, I think you'd be looking at 10.0:1 compression ratio for the GR engine.

And according to Mal Crockenberg, the GR pistons are different from the GPX... The MIVEC pistons being GDI design. There are apparently clearance issues between the valves and pistons if you mix and match the wrong way. Which would be Bad if you got it wrong.

Different cambelts between the two engines too, and different engine ECU mappings.

This all begs the question... why? And, err, who's asking? Wink

Hope this helps!
