Crockenberg Motors are these the guys that every1 uses to get there FTO services etc. I think that Fayes 1 will need a good MAJOR service and want it done right??

Yep, I've been taking mine there since mid-2000 and been very happy with them. Good work, no BS and always happy to advise, help out, etc.

Just be sure you don't need an urgent service booked during Rally Australia or other rally meets around the region! :)

How much does an average service cost? Are they done every 15k kms?

I would have thought it would of been atleast every 10k kms and even then on an FTO I would prolly wanna do a oil change every 5k kms to keeps things running smoothly..

yeah... 10k for service, but i change oil about every 5k ...

Got my 80k major service on thursday at Mal's.
Getting the tappets done, cambelt etc. Gonna be $1k+ Shocked

Still have to work out what will I do with the suspension...

Hey Branko,
the $1k cost is pretty steep .. but your car will be running pretty sweet after it. My engine was sounding pretty cheap before I got that done, but after it was complete... it sounded like new.

Got mine done at Mal's in January. That's what it cost me too...

The cambelt got changed at 80,000km, and I get the valve clearance adjustment done every 40,000km. Costs a bit, but it's worth it!! Sweet running afterwards...

And I agree... it does make you want to rev the nuts off it all day!! Smile

Got my car back on monday, and I could not believe the difference! The car runs much smoother and has heaps more power. It was well worth it!
Car also had completely wrong spark plugs fitted (thanks to petrol station service centre where it was serviced by previous owner) which would have acounted for most power lost.

Thank god for that, I was sort of dissapointed with the performance after my old prelude, but now its much, much better! Smile

Now after I recover from the $1k damage, I have to look into a suspension refit as the car handles like shit after a 4WS 'lude.

the FTO does have passive rear wheel steering courtoursy of the rubber droplinks.
