Yes, it's far too quiet at the moment! Had a breakfast & cruise a short while ago, and only had three FTOs come along. At the drags late last year, we had two. But the last group photo shoot saw eight vehicles, and a winning picture. So Graeme (Bassula) is quite right in that we need to do some work on the event front... at least in terms of consistent appeal and turnout!!

It's interesting to note that the people on this forum have never really been ones for idle chit-chat. If people are quiet, it's probably because nothing has broken!! Smile

In any case, we're always here for a Perth-based point of contact for all things FTO-related. I know that I check on here every day, and there are a number of veteran owners lurking in dark corners of the forum. Smile

Finally, be aware that the whole event thing is a product of all our collective drive to do something (or lack thereof). There ain't no committee or social secretary, so if you want to arrange something just shout out and we'll do it!!

Stuff we have done in the past, and can easily do again, includes:

- Entry-level performance driver training. Using your own car, with an instructor in the passenger seat, learn some essential car control skills at a dedicated skidpan training complex.

- Performance driving competitions. If you're hooked after doing some of the above, you can get involved in some good, fun, club level individual or team competitions. Great fun!

- Cruises... often to or from food-related establishments, hehe. Some of the best have been trips out of the city to places like York (motor muesum), Dwellingup, and even an overnighter in Bunbury.

- Photo shoot. Once a year, we have been entering an image into the UK FTO Owners Club calendar competition. We won a place in 2004. In 2005, we also won a place, along with the front cover!

- Breakfast/lunch meets. Says it all, really! Good to get to know other people with a similar taste in cars. And of course, food!! Smile

So please feel free to get involved. If you're interested in getting out there in an FTO and doing some specific activity, chances are you're not the only one!

- Rich

Looks like there is talk of a breakfast + cruise in the event's forum.

Let's try to get something organised before it starts raining again. Smile

Hey,

I'll be back in Perth late December (about 14th Dec). I'm heading from here (London) to Melbourne for a wedding on the 11th, then heading to Perth for a couple of weeks to spend xmas before coming back here.

Given I still have my car (My mom is currently driving it, hah, and she loves it!) and I now intend on keeping the car (god I miss it so much Smile) I am going to force a cruise for lets say, December 17th or 18th?

Talk about planning in advance Very Happy
