Dear All
Just about to put my fto in for a 100K service. Any ideas what should be done? I have started a list based on discussion on this and other forums - anything missing?
1. Change Timing belt MD211195 or MD313673 not sure, need to check this.
2. adjust valves
3. Change engine and gearbox oil high quality oil please
4. change engine oil and gearbox oil filters original parts only
5. change all 6 spark plugs high end please
6. check / clean air filter
7. check / clean carburettor
8. change brake fluid
9. check brake pads replace with EBC red stuff pads
10. check suspension system, lubricate where necessary |

Looks good.
> 7. check / clean carburettor
No carbie on these things! But if someone knows what they are doing, they could remove the Idle Speed Controller and give the throttle body a good clean.
> 8. change brake fluid
Get the caliper sliders regreased at the same time.
You could also check the quality of the two drivebelts as well. Seeing as they will have to come off...
If the coolant is over 40,000 to 50,000km old, you could do a coolant flush too.
How old is the fuel filter? They can go 60-80,000km, then should be replaced.
It'll be expensive, but there ain't nothing better than a pampered car!

It all comes down to the service history. It's not so bad if stuff has been done previously when it was supposed to have been. But if all three belts are still the original ones by 100k, nobody has done the valve clearances - ever - and the plugs have never been done, then yeah... it'll be expensive!
You should be able to track various component ages yourself, and dictate the most important tasks based on that. Check out the simple little .xls in one of the 'news' articles on the home page of www.ftowa.com. That does the trick for me. You can discuss recommended component age with your garage, and plug in numbers you're happy with. For my car, as it cops a lot of track use, the 'change-by' mileages are pretty conservative.
