Hey Rich..or anyone else that can help me,

I was just wondering how to get registered into autokhana style racing aka MC days.

Main question.....Price, requirements, meets...

Easy!

- Give John Clark at MC Motorsport a ring on 9246 5981.
- Find out when the next General Public Training Days are on... ones with free spots, that is.
- Book into one or two. You can pay by credit card, or cash on the day. It costs about $65 or $70 for a half-day session.
- Tell me, as I'll always be in a bit more track fun! Be happy to join ya!

On the day, just empty all the heavy/loose stuff out of your car. Removable sound stuff in the boot, spare tyre, etc. Inside, clean up so that nothing rolls under your brake pedal at the critical moment! Don't laugh... it's happened. Watch out for apples... hehe.

You don't need a helmet for training days. Nor competition tyres, harness, blah, blah... Just put a bit more air in your road tyres than normal, and turn up.

They run it out at the AHG Driving Centre near Perth International Airport. Up Horrie Miller Drive, right onto Grogan Rd, straight through the gate at the end.

Do some training days first, before competing. Hell, I did about 18 months of training stuff before getting a team together, but I'm a slow learner. And old. But there's as much fun to be had just getting out there on the informal sessions as a competition... and they are better value than the comps too (more runs for same price).

do you need cams license

Not for the training days.

For comp days, you can get a 2NS CAMS license.

But get a 2S instead. It doesn't cost a great deal more, and you can do the 'super sprints' or other events that are a bit quicker. 2S is under a hundred bucks for a year, as I recall.

There is an alternative license that can be arranged just at MC's. It's something like $45. But it's MC's only. If you go driving at Norbert's MaxAction motorkhana, my understanding is that it won't be recognised.

But do practice days first! No license needed, and a lot more runs for the same money.
