dunno if anyone else is interested in this...
but i used to have this in my skyline...just to replace the old floor mats.
stop them from sliding arnd, another good thing, is that it always stay clean...haha no dirt would stay there, it just slips under the flooring, and just give that a clean every few months...haha

just wondering on numbers and possibly we can get someone to make them for us...

for my old car, i got it custom made at a metal fabrication workshop..forgot how much now, roughly $150 for the pair...

watch out for different quality of steel they use and also thickness of it, for it to be strong...haha..

another issue is i am not too sure abt legalities of this...so anyone other than me interested in this??? maybe we can all go search for something like that?...prob just me...lol

Not me...

I count anything inside the cabin as a potential missile in an accident. If I have to be pummelled by floor mats in a rollover, I want them to be nerf missiles! So I'll keep the sloppy old originals. Smile

was not very clear in my initial post. i meant the metal ones that u usually find in workshops and heavy duty industrial workplaces. not quite sure abt shopping centres though...haha

as for legality issues, i am not too sure about it, and doubt if it would be LEGAL...cause anything non-stock has the potential to bring a yellow sticker. but chances are that they will not see it while they are driving past...haha unless they pull u over for some other mods u have done, then either way u will have a yellow sticker anyway... Crying or Very sad

as for danger in an accident. its a metal sheet which is bolted on to the floor of the car. I dun really see how that can be dangerous. if the car does happen to roll, i dun see how it can do more damage to u. either way if the car collapses onto u, with a thin layer of carpet flooring or a metal plate, u are pretty much gone to another world...lol Twisted Evil

but yeh, rich may be right however in that it might be illegal and people shud be aware of that issue. Smile

they are illegal... for a couple of reasons..

1 they arent factory
2 when wet they are slippery, yer yer I know they are for building sites etc to help gip on wet surfaces.. but with normal shoes they are slipperly...

but in saying that I had custom 1s made in my old car.. cost me like $350 but was awesome.. I guess it all depends on what you are doing with your car really if they fit in or not..
