Me and my FTO will be belting up and down the skidpans on Sunday morning for a bit of competition action.
If anyone wants to come along and check it out, the fun starts at 9am. Don't forget to come and say g'day.
The venue is the AHG Driving Centre, Grogan Rd, near Perth Int'l Airport.
There are apparently a lot of Porsches entered, so it should be an interesting morning!

Didn't read this until now (after the event). It was AM session. It was very busy - must have been around 20 competitors.
I haven't seen the official tallied scoreboard, but by my reckoning it looks like I placed 3rd!
I would have been relegated to 4th, but an error from a Rex driver opened things up a little. The bloke was clocking faster times than I could manage (in a Club Spec Evo 4 WRX - and on street tyres!!!), but he had a brain fade on the second last run and didn't finish that course, so a "wrong-way".
Looks like first place went to a seriously quick Porsche driver... damn good to watch, he was.
I'll post up the official results on the 'Motorsport' page when I get hold of 'em.
So... a good day!!!!

Sure can. A 2S license is fine. I think you can even compete in the MC skidpan stuff with a 2NS, but check that with them. You may as well get a 2S, as it's only $85 a year.
You also need to be a member of a CAMS-affiliated car club. WASCC, AFARCC, whoever. $30 to $50 a year for that.

Was that you going out to AHG Tuesday at about 3:30pm.

Not guilty! This time, anyway!
But I think you're right about the second home bit... last week, I was there Thursday for the photo shoot, Friday for some training time and Sunday for the individual comp. I need a parking spot with my name on it....

I posted up some stills I had from this event over on the ftoaustralia forum. Thought I might put 'em up here too...
These were shot by a bloke by the name of Raphael. He very kindly emailed them to me. He caught the turn-in point nicely on that top one - heaps of weight transfer!
