Is there anyone out there that has fited a catch can?
I just need to know where the hoses go.
Pictures would be very appreciated. |

Yeah, I've fitted one.
One hose goes from the manifold to the lower catch can point.
Other hose goes from the upper catch can point to the induction pipe.
If the catch can isn't already packed, fill it with stainless steel scourer material. Can't think of much else. It was pretty straightforward.

Ive seen couple of places where people have put the hoses.
How did u baffle the can? |

No internal baffles in it... I just stuffed it with stainless steel scourers.

The oil catch can itself, installed where the factory airbox used to be...

Hey Rich,
What material is your Air Intake made of? Trying to get myself made up one but looking around at what material is best used. Most ppl here says Stainless steel is better at reducing heat.

Nothing fancy. Just whatever common or garden steel they use... 
Besides, it's a foot-long pipe. Given that the engine consumes 8000 litres a minute of air at redline (if my maths is right), I don't think using one type of metal over another will matter too much!

But this is how I connected mine, which I think is the correct way:
One hose from the rocker cover of the back bank of cylinders, into the oil catch can, and then the other hose going back into the stock intake pipe
If you have a look carefully, there is already a very short hose just after the throttle body which connects to the rocker cover, and basically you are fitting an oil catch can inbetween there
PS. I didn't really find any need for an oil catch can on the 6A12 MIVEC

It's probably a bit disorienting looking at the posted images. There aren't the usual reference points to see exactly which direction I was facing, and what was what. I'll try to explain myself better...

You mean the wee, two-inch hose from the stock induction pipe? No longer present on my vehicle... Gone, along with the entire stock induction pipe. This is a redesigned variant of an airbox style induction system.
Here's an image of an earlier incarnation of this setup (before it was finalised). You can see the equivalent of the Very Short Hose in this pic a little bit better. This is before the fitting of the oil catch can...
So the previously posted images show the connection of the oil catch can between these two points... as you said, fitting it between them.
To explain even more, the vertical red rectangle was where one end of the Very Short Pipe used to be. The horizontal red rectangle is a spud into the induction pipe - just before the throttle body.

As for whether it was necessary or not, I'll let you know if there is any oil in it when I get around to checking. There's certainly none visible. I installed it because of the mucky state of the throttle body when it was serviced last year. Couldn't hurt, I reckoned!
