Dear All experts,

I have this difficulties of finding a alternator for my FTO 1995 GPX in Perth, Western Australia ... Can u all pls pls pls pls give me a hand on this?? I really need it asap .. TQ :~(

You after a new or second hand item? Try giving Crockenberg Motors a call (www.crockenbergmotors.com.au), Ask to speak to Mal, he might have one lying around or if not will be able to get ahold of one. Also try giving Mitsubie wreckers a call (19 Resource Way Malaga WA 6090 ph: (0Cool 9209 3900), they usually have 1 or 2 FTO's in stock. I managed to get a replacement drivers window glass from them.

You could also try www.partslocator.com.au and ring around various other wreckers with FTO bits.

Make sure you get the GPX alternator, not the GR one - or one from a "similar" Mitsy engine - because there is an extra terminal on the GPX alternator. Without getting the correct signal from it, the engine ECU won't allow the MIVEC cutover to happen. You'll get an "Alternator FR Terminal" engine light warning code, and it'll be a whole lot less fun to drive! Smile
