Hi guys,
I am thinking of getting a FTO but i need you guys to give me some comment about that car. I've heard from many negative thoughts about FTO. Does FTO really gives you lots of problem? Furthermore it is hard to find a good second hand FTO in WA as i've been looking high and low for that car. Lastly i hope that you guys can give me some suggestion importing FTO from Japan and who should i approach?
Cheers! |

I can't say who you should approach... other than that the rule changes over the last few years will have tightened up the quality control for imports. You shouldn't have the endless parade of "repaired accident damaged" cars we faced.
If you're looking for a car without age-related problems, then get as new an example as you can - not a 1994 one. While there was nothing wrong with the FTOs from the earlier production, they are now 12 years old.
It is hard finding good second hand FTOs - there don't seem to be too many around any more.
Personally, I've found the FTO to be the most reliable car I've ever owned. Looked after properly, and not ballsed up with dodgy modifications, it should look after you...!

Hi,
My name is Mark and if you look at the last post just under yours, i am currently selling my FTO to make way for a family car. I noticed in your post replys that people said to get as new a car as possible. Well as stated in my post, mine is a 1998, and they are very hard to come by from what i can gather. If you leave a reply on mine, i will get in contact with you. The price is negotiable.
Cheers,
Mark |
