Hello guys and gals.

I have the 6A12 NA (Non-MIVEC) version and wondering if you guys can help me out with the below:-

1) Tuning capabilities + suggestions
2) Technical manuals
3) Workshop manuals
4) Wiring diagrams
5) Anything that you can think of

I've got a complete set of the original manuals... but there are a couple of sites that you can download soft copies from! Much easier...

They are all about the MIVEC version, but that shouldn't be a big problem most of the time.

You won't see spectacular increases in power by chucking sports exhaust, pod filters, blah blah blah on these cars... they are in a pretty decent state of tune from the factory. The above mods mostly just change the sound at full throttle, hehe.

For tuning, my preference has been to concentrate on handling and brakes - getting the car to do more of what it does best! It's a pretty nippy vehicle, for sure!

As for (5), your best bet is to come along to the next meet - when we organise one! Kick the tyres, have a natter, and get some ideas...

Wrt to the manuals, I have seen some on the net but like you mention, they are all for the MIVEC version. Sigh!!!

I have some some bolt on mods + handling mods. Dynoed the bugger and gains of only 10bhp from stock. Sigh!!!!

Would love to join you guys next time but I'm in KL, Malaysia not Perth.
I used to stay in Perth though, that was a couple of years back.

By the way, my 6A12 is not in a FTO but in the Proton Perdana (Mitsubishi Eterna clone)

With regards of the manuals, what does it include?

Did u print them out from e software from e net or are they really in a book?

Come along to one of the FTO Drivers Club meets and ask around. Someone should have them on CD.

But I also have the original "real" manuals! Smile

I bought them years ago from RalliArt Dudley when I was in the UK. Cost a bomb, hehe. You're welcome to borrow them...

Hi Richard,

How much did u pay for them in UK? Would very much luv to get a hard copy for myself! Quite tough to read on the PC all e time and e browsing time suxx, prefer paper....haha...

Does your hard copy include everything that is already on the web or does it come with extra bits? Fotocopy at UNI is $0.11 per page so if it is worth the money(how many pages are they??), mabe i'll borrow and make a copy!

They cost me 88 pounds - about $250 at the time! Exchange rate is a bit better now though, so more like $210. Still a wallop.

It's a heap of pages. Five books, ringbound.

You're welcome to borrow them if you want a read, or want it for specific jobs.

Hell, if you have more money than sense and want to buy them off me, I won't complain! Very Happy

Yeah, Peter's got a GR.

Both he and I do some motorkhana practice each month, and there's really not much in it between the GR and GPX in terms of times.

The GR doesn't sound quite as nice, though! Smile
