Hey people! I've just recently picked up a 95 GPX auto and am now an extremely happy FTO owner. I stumbled across this forum a week or so ago and thought that I'd sign up and say hi now that I actually have the car. This looks like it'll be a valuable resource for me in terms of servicing and general info. I'll try and input from time to time when I think I've got something valuable to say. Smile

I'm shopping for a decent alarm to rig the car up with in addition to the immobiliser. Does anyone have any suggestions as to a decent brand or shop to go to? I'd probably be looking at nothing more than $300 at this stage.

I could recommend Laserline alarms, thats what I have in my car, but unfortunately I think they only do commertial vehicles now unless someone is referred to them.

You could give them a call and say that FTO Drivers Club reffered you. You would be looking at abou 350-400 depending on whether you want keyless entry.

Hiya! Welcome aboard... If you haven't already registered your details on our member list, you should join up. Then you'll be included in mailouts regarding planned events, etc.

Regarding the alarm, if you're an HBF, RAC or SGIO member, they often have special deals in their various schemes for alarm installs. Check out any of their glossy mags/brochures and see if there's something suitable.

I still recall how annoyed I was after noticing a $295 alarm install in the HBF member offers pamphlet - for exactly the same alarm I'd just bought for $365!! hehe.

Enjoy the car...!
