prove me wrong guys, maybe some of you's can show me a 14's time slip.

Well, you can go check out the UK "FTO quarter mile league table" online, hehe...

http://www.mitsubishi-fto.net/main.htm

Link is on the left bar. The UK mob keep this up to date, and are pretty exacting about verification. You can actually view some of their slips online. Very Happy

Bear in mind that's on a UK strip - different conditions and so on. But I recall both Mark and Leigh have run 14.xx times in their NA FTOs down at the Motorplex. They were pretty pleased at that! I did have images of their slips somewhere, but God only knows where they are on my HDD now, hehe.

There's nothing like a bit of honest to god fire-in-the-belly competition! Smile

I reckon the Whoop-Ass Wednesday meet Graeme's organising is going to be an interesting session. Can't wait!

pevans,
$800 for the pod filter setup sounds right. Like i said, the only way to make effective use of a pod is to spend at least $500 on a professional job.... the $800 price tag certainly sounds like the job will be done very well indeed....

No point wasting money on a pod if you havent got the cash to complete the setup.

Who is running 13's? is there a post missing... I think Danny would be the only one running 13's...
My pod picks up from under the bumper to eliminate the heat problem, but I haven't actually checked if it gets dirty... I gotta do a service this weekend so will have a good look.
As richard suggest I will be fitting his home dyno thingy to get a few figures and hopefully convince you guys that my car is fast Twisted Evil
Also, when FTOBOI drove it, it still had the dodgy spark plug leads so it was only running on 5 and a half cylinders, we have replaced them with 8mm racing ones and I am happy to say that the performance and fuel economy have both improved. Sad to say that I think it was also running on regular ULP that day too.... Evil or Very Mad
Now as for those 14's....

How are u doing Richard's dyno......lets compare????

so i'll be racing against you to get into the 14's then.

yep, I ran a best ever of 14.8 and multiple 14.9's had terminal speeds of 95- 100 mph.
I considered a "15 second" passes as a bad run. . used to keep the slip in my car as proof. This is with only exhaust and filter mods.

if leigh does a 14.8 with exhaust and pod, imagine what i can do with a full air filter package inc piping from front, aluminum heat surrounding, a arc intake. full exhaust system with manifold, extractors and heat wrap. Racing spark plugs. Racing clutch. Shot shift. Vented fibreglass bonnet. Adjustable and most importantly the LSD which is a proven in quarter mile racing and gives a minumum of .3 of a second.

Vlad, it takes a lot of improvement to drop your car an entire second on the 1/4 mile. Btw, leigh uses the RPW POD filter installation, down i front of the bumper.

The FTO doesnt have that much scope for improvement without bolting on some kind of forced induction or Nitrous system.

Still, im looking forward to seeing your motorplex slips.

Richard - just to clarify, my best run was 15.002 @ about 98mph. Not quite in the 14's. Remember my car hadn't had anything done to it at that time i don't think.
